Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Date

Call of Duty has been a yearly, $60 box ever since the original Modern Warfare, and so letting out a free-to-play option, even if it's only the one mode, is a big deal. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare updates are typically released on Tuesdays, which is why fans think that Tuesday, March 3 or Tuesday, March 10 are the most likely dates for the mode to be available.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 6 has finally been revealed, and there are big changes in store for Warzone and competitive multiplayer. Farah and Nikolai will soon join the game's growing roster of Operators, alongside a new discovery in Verdansk. It all goes live when Season 6 begins on September 29. The news was announced via an Activision blog post Tuesday afternoon.

The main feature of Season 6, as detailed in the trailer above, is that Ferah and Nikolai have joined Captain Price in an effort to investigate the breakdown of Armistice. As a result, both characters from the Modern Warfare campaign will soon be making their way to the rest of the game. Illustrated in the screenshots below, these premium skins have multiple styles featuring casual wear, tactical gear and a mixture of both arrangements.

In addition to the new cosmetics, it looks like the Warzone map will also be getting a bit of an underground makeover as well. The season's two protagonists have somehow found their way into the Verdansk subway system, which strongly implies a huge network of underground tunnels will be added in the space below the arena that fans currently know. We've seen trains and an expanded Train Station make their way to the battle royale mode over the past few months, so pushing that concept even further with a full-blown subway makes sense.

Beyond those details, there's a lot we still don't know about Modern Warfare Season 6. Infinity Ward has teased that the forthcoming update will feature a Battle Pass with 100 tiers and 1,300 CoD Points, but it's unclear what additional rewards will be part of the purchase. There will be new weapons and multiplayer maps in the update, but we don't yet know what form that DLC will take. Some believe Nikolai may be carrying an AS VAL assault rifle in the trailer, but that has yet to be confirmed. For now, however, leaks suggest that may be the featured gun of Season 6.

What's perhaps most intriguing of all is what this new subway system might mean for Easter eggs coming to Warzone in Season 6. As we inch toward the release of Black Ops Cold War and a presumed Zombies reveal, will there be more for players to find in these uncharted tunnel depths? We'll have to wait till September 29 to know for sure!
